Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a long-term condition that causes widespread pain and tenderness throughout the body, often accompanied by severe fatigue, unrefreshing sleep, and cognitive difficulties sometimes called “fibro fog”. People with fibromyalgia may feel exhausted even after a full night’s sleep, and this fatigue can be as debilitating as the pain itself. Other common symptoms include muscle stiffness, headaches, digestive problems, and increased sensitivity to touch, temperature, or noise. The exact cause of fibromyalgia is not fully understood, but it is thought to involve changes in how the nervous system processes pain and sensory signals. While there is no cure, a combination of medication, exercise, and stress management can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life.
